A great day to be on the water today. I fished from 9:30 am until 2:00 pm. A little fog on the water early mixed in with the cooler temperatures. Water temperature was 78 degrees around 10 am - yes ! The water was stained. The first half of my trip was "solo" and then I picked Debbie up around 11:30. The cooler water temperatures had the bass in a biting mood. We caught most of our fish sitting in fairly deep water casting toward the weedlines. We probably got 8-9 bass in the boat and lost 3 more. The bass included a "freight train" of a smallmouth that were smashing Blue Back Chartreuse and Chartreuse Green Craw crankbaits. Deb also caught a smaller smallmouth. The bass were suspended near the surface and around a lot of shad.
