Has anyone fished up at S-berry in the last day or two? thinking of taking 6 kids up there later today and wondering if it has turned over yet? That would help me determine whether to prepare for surface action or if they are still deeper? We will be in a boat and with kids trolling surface baits would sure make it easy on me! [
] Any help/feedback appreciated.
thanks

I was up on Friday - Everything I caught trolling was 30 - 40 feet in depth. I started jigging in 25 feet of water and caught a few. All I caught were slot cutts, not sure about the rainbow?

can't help you right now,
I'm going to FG Mon-Wed
then Friday to Strawberry, If you can wait I will check the water temperature.
with my Fish Hawk from top to bottom then you will know what is going on.
watch for my post.
but I don't think the water is turning over yet,
I don't know how you fish but the last time I was their the fish were between 20 and 40' my fish finder was showing that and that was where I was catching them.

Water is the most dense (heavy) at 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Yesterday, it was about 57 degrees in the morning and 60 degrees when we left at 4:30 PM, so it isn't even close to turning over yet. You are likely seeing the vegetation starting to die and floating to the surface and confusing that to the water turn over.

Took my crew up on Thurs., trolled renegade and we killed the rainbow. Wedding ring, worm and powerbait, yellow was the color of choice. We boated over 30 bows in just a few hours. Most were in the 18-20" range and very healthy (FAT). Good luck, try trolling around renegade.

Nice post! When you say Renegade, do you mean the smaller couple of bays to the east of the boat ramp down there, or somewhere else? Did you troll the whole time, or anchor off and fish with the Powerbait?
Thanks, I'm headed up in the morning.

Renegade is on the extreme south and west end of Strawberry. You can get there by boat or take the road towards the Strawberry Marina, but instead of taking the turn to the marina stay on the road for another 8 miles or so, and you will reach the turnoff to the Renegade boat ramp.

I fished Friday evening and Saturday morning in the Chicken Creek East area on my pontoon. I caught rainbows and cutts with a purple fly, tube jig and bubble and a worm. The worm was about 5 feet below the bubble on top and seemed to be the most successful.
