I've been working on figuring out some new bass waters since the Twin Lakes Canal Company closed access to its waters. I was giving Lamont a try the other day, and while I did finally hook into a nice sized bass there (which
ly threw the hook) the real surprise came shortly after.
The water is very high for this time of year so I was pitching a wacky worm to flooded brush when I hooked into this guy.

I was rather surprised to have caught him since I've never heard of cutthroat being in Lamont and see no mention of them on the stocking records. The only thing I can think of is that it came downstream from a small creek up in the drainage, went through Johnson, down the spillway and into Lamont. Kind of a fun fluke catch.
