This is one nice Brookie, I caught in a 1 acre Uinta lake that took me 10 miles and 3000 elevation gain, and it was worth it. It is the most beautiful, not biggest, brook I have caught in a decade or better.
I think it was planted in either 02 or 06, most likely 06, as this lake has a four planting cycle, 02,06,10,14. They plant 60 every 4 years. I was expecting stunted, pleasantly surprised. The picture does not show how deep the belly is. Plus a hooked jaw.
I was the only fish in that lake I caught, as you can imagine, in that small of a lake, they are skiddish, when Chuck gets caught, word is out.
I returned him.
Is there any more beautiful game fish in America and a full spawning color brookie?
