I am headed down to Brian Head with my kids this weekend. Does anyone have any advice about where I can sneak some fishing in down there? I was thinking heading over to Panguitch Lake but I have no experience or knowledge of the area.

Thanks.

That is what I did when we went to brian head last winter. It is a nice drive I have not fished Panguitch much but the fish are good size maybe some one with a little more knowledge of how to fish panguitch can help you on that side. but I thought it was worth the drive over.

They built a pond at the resort thats stocked with trout. Theres also a few small unamed ponds in the area that hold fish. Try the one half way up the mountain on the right

I would try Yankee Meadow Reservoir. It 7 miles off SR-143, the road between Parowan and Brian Head. It is a good dirt road so if you are driving a car it would be no problem. It has rainbows, cutthroats, and brookies. The fish are not big there but it is a pretty location and a chance at some brookies is always a treat.

I went to Panguitch Lake last week and if you are fishing from shore the low lake level has the weeds going wild around the edges. It is difficult to find an area that you can cast to without the weeds. If you have a boat or rent one from one of the lodges then you could probably do alright. There are some large fish in there.

Good luck wherever you decide to go.[fishon]

Panguitch Lake, Paragonah Reservoir (Red Creek Reservoir), Yankee Meadow Reservoir, Navajo Lake, Duck Creek Lake, and Aspen Mirror Lake are all options. A lot of where you should go depends on what type of fishing you want or plan on doing. Personally, I would spend most of my time at Navajo or Panguitch because of the chance at bigger fish. If I wanted to catch wild rainbow trout with the chance of catching a lot, I would hit Paragonah Reservoir. If I wanted to go on a pretty drive and have easy access to some fishing, I might try Duck Creek. If I wanted to catch brook trout, I would try Yankee Meadow. The bottom line is that you have options....and some really good ones.
