I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now. With freshwater there are many styles of rods and reels from ultralight to heavy, spinning to baitcast. All have their place for catching fish from throwing heavy cranks to finesse fishing light tackle. Now looking at the different catalogs I see many different styles of rods. They are either really long, some short, long handles and short handles. Some are like a heavy non bendable pole where others are very sensitive. What are some of their uses? I know freshwater. Saltwater is a new area for me. I understand the fish are bigger in the big blue so rod weights are understandable. I just see so many rods that I haven't seen before is all.
