Steven and I prefished Friday and had found some fish in the grass and felt pretty good about starting there on day 1. we stop in Mullins cove first thing to try and pick up a keeper or two will the fog lifted but that was not to be so we head to the grass mat where we found fish on Friday and I got our first keeper in the boat on a frog. we caught a few more shorts on that grass matt so we started moving and came up on Dropshot in the same area and Steve catches one right in front of them but it was just short. a few minutes later we was fishing behind Patrick he had went down one side and we went to the other and I flipped a jig to the edge of the grass and other only other keeper for that day (thanks Patrick for going to that one side) LOL. ended day 1 with 5.45 lbs. Day two started off with a short COLD RUN up river and we both missed fished on jigs the first few cast, I pickup a trap and had one stop it dead so I set the hook and in came our first keeper of the day. a few minutes later I had one crush my jig as soon as it hit the water and I told Steven this was a better fish but before he could get the net the fish jumps right beside the boat and gives me my jig back it looked to be 3+ lbs. we went back to CFP for the last two hours and Steven catches two keepers on a trap so we have three in the live well and not feeling good about our chances but with three minutes left in the TX. I had started the motor and told Steven we had three minutes left and he sets the hook and in came our fourth keeper of the day. we finished with 12.82 good for second place I want to thank all of the committee members for there hard work thru out the year.
