Hello this is my first post I am looking forward to posting and reading all of your great posts.
We went up to Jordanelle today. We did pretty good, caught 20 trout and to many perch to count. It was a nice day out of the smog, and a great day on the lake. Was nice to hear the coyotes yapping in the hills to the north.

Liv2Fish, I was up there today also. I could only get into small I mean SMALL perch. Many of them so little that they couldn't get hooked. I would foul hook them after several tries at setting the hook. I can see why the DWR increased the limit to 50. We all need to take a mess of them home with us. Know anyone with cats? I did catch several bows 14" to 16". They made the trip worth while. Several other BFT members were also there today. We were using FRS 12 to find each other. All in all a good day out of the city. When I was up there last time in mid day I could hear dogs yipping in the hills. My dog was interested in a small ravine by the lake too. How deep of water was you in??? what were you using??? I might be going there tomorrow and just have some curiousity. Next was the trout caught on the bottom, suspended or did you catch them on drop or retreve???

If I had my choice I would go somewhere else. The perch are TOO SMALL to waste your time on. However the trout were descent. I fished on the south side about 100 yards from shore at about 300 yards to the west of the end of the road. The fish I caught were all on the bottom. Some would cruise by at about 10' to 15' off the bottom but I never caught any of them. I was in 20' or less depth at all the places that I moved to. Wax worms worked better than mealies for me. I also used smelly jelly most of the time.[crawdad scent] Most hits were after I took up my slack. DKSRenegade
