Just curious how's the ice by the marina thinking of heading up in the morning??

There was 2.5 to 3 inches just south of the marina on saturday. If ya go... i would like to know how much is grown since then. For curiosity sake.

I was East chicken creek today (12/28/15) and talk to a gentleman who came from the main marina and said it was close to 3" thick. East chicken creek had between 4-5" maybe more. we saw a few snowmobiles on the ice.

Went to the bay today (12/28). Beautiful weather but cold. Ice was 4+ inches. Fished from about 8 until 2. Caught 18 cutts. All but one was 18-21.75". Pretty consistent. Did best with Ratfinkee's tipped with a wax worm. Paddle bugs or tubes with chub meat worked as well. Be safe out there. Ice should get better each day.

How is the road to the Marina and access points off 40? Are they plowed or do you need 4wd to get around?

Went today.. Everywhere we went had 5 solid inches. There was a airboat and snowmobile son the ice. We got there very late and didn't have good fishjng, but right before we left we got 4 in 30 minutes once we finally figured them out. Key is small jigs in 10 feet or less of water.

The fishing was a little slow but I did get a couple slot busters wich made up for it.

Nice! How deep of water were you finding the success in? I'm taking my boy in the morning to try out our new shantee and heater. Hopefully we'll get into them good, but my transducer took a dump on my old sonar, so we will be "fishing blind" or "old school" tomorrow. If we do well I'll post a report and pics...
