Would it be realistic to take a 2wd vehicle to fish lake?

There are a few places after the the turn off to Fishlake that the snow can drift pretty bad. Other than that I would say you shouldn't have a problem. It's a popular enough place that the road is usually in pretty good shape unless there has been a recent snow storm.

Have done so for years. Both front wheel drive cars and 2 wheel drive pick ups. Only seen the road unpassable 2 times in 25 years, while I have been going fishing.
States goal if it has snowed is to have a plow leaving highway by 8 a.m. Had to wait for it one of the two times. Other time road was drifted in with 6' drifts so it took a while to open up.

Go to http://commuterlink.utah.gov/ and look at the camera just to the southwest of Fish Lake....you can see that the snow is blowing across the road a little right now and there seems to be a big pile in the middle of the road, looks like a snowplow stopped there and left some snow in one lane. Doable in a passenger car but be prepared to go slow.

Just took a 2wd car and the conditions were bad but were not good on the way up and we did just fine. Plows keep the road up good at least after 8am or so.

Signs state that they only plow in day light hours so worst case you may have to wait till sun up
