We fished Jan 9 Saturday... We had 32 cuts through the ice many more missed we had 2 people who never had ice fished before. The key for us was getting away from all the people. This was the first trip with a snowmobile, I am now ruined for hiking [
]. The best success was before 12:00 fishing slowed quite a bit after that. We stayed until dark. We had friends fishing strawberry marina by the boat ramp and they only had one bite all morning. The best action was either on power bait off the bottom or we had great action on paddle bugs and jigs. With jigs we fished just out of sight about 12 feet down. We were in 30ft of water we fished around hawes point [
] the ice was plenty thick 8" everywhere we punched a hole. We only had one out of the slot most were right about 20" and nice and fat. All were released back to grow for next year [cool]
