Cool, thanks for all your hard work!
Is only one specie of fish tagged or multiple specie?

Sorry, I should have read the rules first.
No need to answer the tagged question.

If a guy wanted to camp, do you have any recmmendations on where to park a camper?

The Fishlake National Forest plowed out the Doctor Creek group site last year and I think they were planning to do that again. I would contact them to make sure. Try the Richfield (435-896-9233) or Loa (435-836-2800) office. Please don't park a camper in any of the day use areas -- that caused some parking issues last year.

If I register online do I still have to check in with you guys that morning or can I just start fishing
[signature]
Yes, you still need to check in but it will be quick.

How much parking will be plowed for this event

There are a lot of people working on clearing snow, including Sevier County, Forest Service and Fish Lake Resorts. The goal is to have at least as much parking as we had last year if not more. However, the sheer amount of snow that fell in a short period of time is making it a little difficult. We'll see what can be accomplished.

Maybe cut down those huge mountain hills as well so people can making up Mount Everest to the lake [laugh].

All I can say is thanks for having the roads nice and clean 2 weeks ago after a heavy storm and hope for the same when I head up there this weekend.

Registered online, should we receive an email notification?

If there are five of us in our party can we have one person check in all of us? Or do we have to check in individually. We all have pre registered.

Thanks

That's a good question barberjd78

There is not email confirmation. That may be a good idea for the future, though.

We need everyone to check in individually. We hope this helps cut down on the number of people trying to start fishing too early.

We have received a few inquiries as to why everyone needs to check in if registration is online. There are a couple of reasons: You need to get a raffle ticket. If any of the 100 prizes are not claimed at the end of the day, they will be raffled off. Also, we need a count of exactly how many people actually show up. This will help us get an idea of how many prizes may have to be raffled. Also, we'd like to get some good estimates of total perch removed during the day, as well as a rough population estimate of perch in the lake. The number of anglers is a necessary piece of data for each of these.

If this is a perch only contest then why even allow the maximum 18 inch hole? Who needs an 18 inch-hole for perch? I know bigger fish can be caught but if the target is perch then 10 inches should be more than sufficient. That could be a serious hazard to the many youth that plan on being there. Just my two cents.

muskycoop,
The 18-inch hole rule is standard for Fish Lake. (This is actually an exemption from the statewide rule, which is 12 inches.) The regulations for Fish Lake were listed in the rule sheet as a reminder that the contest does not negate standard rules.

That's fine but I'm pretty sure the rules can and should be tailored for the tournament, especially when safety is involved with so many people and young ones encouraged to participate. I'm excited and can't wait to go but knowing that rule I'll for sure be extra careful cuz I'm pretty sure my little girl can fit through an 18 inch hole. The place will look like Swiss cheese in a hurry. Just something to think about for next year I guess
