[#000000]Showed up to Mantua at about 730 am with zero action for an hour and a half so we went up the road a bit to Hyrum.[/#000000]

[#000000]The road to the swimming beach was plowed and clear ($8/vehicle State Park Fee). Ice was about 8 inches thick and noisy all afternoon. There was about 2-3 feet of open water at the shore but some fine citizen left some wood planks to make crossing the water easier. Fished in 8-15 feet of water with hot perch action at every hole. Jigged just off the bottom with ice flies/kast masters/paddle bugs tipped with night crawler or perch meat. Iced 12 fish in the first 30 minutes of fishing. Jigging seemed to attract bites. Caught 4 rainbows between 10 and 16 inches and saw several other anglers pulling rainbows through the ice as well.[/#000000]

Any good sized perch? Seems like all I can find there is the little 6" dinks.

Nice! How late in the day did you stay? I'm thinking about taking my wife in the afternoon and hoping the fish are still biting

Perch averaged about 8 inches. There were smaller ones being caught but IMO they're not worth the hassle of filleting. I threw the dinks back in there for ya! [Wink]

We fished until about 2:30. The bite was still hot the moment we left. It's always hard to pack up while the fish want you to stay. Good luck to you and your wife if you head out!
