Headin back at it on sunday morning and can't decide if we wanna make the trip back out to strawberry or if we wanna try our luck at Rockport. Anyone been up to rockport this week and had success? Or ice conditions with the warm up the last two days?

Went Wednesday to Rockport. Five hours, five fish, slow!!! My friends only got one each. All small planters, except one 15" that went home for dinner. Ice a good 9" thick.

Thanks for the report! It seems like everyone that goes there has been averaging maybe one an hour in the group. If you don't mind me askin were you on the north or south side of the lake?

Also there on Wed.. I'll add that I went to the Marina launch. The parking was great, and someone has put some wooden planks and pallets down at the bottom of the ramp. The edges were good, but if warmer weather does make them soft, the wood makes it easy to get on at that location.
Fishing slow for me also. Stayed past dusk and started getting a few perch and trout bites. Talked to the DNR officer that came down to check me (last one off the ice that night). He said that people have reported better action early in the morning.

I am about to hook up and head down to Rockport. I am betting parking outside the marina will be a nightmare as usual so I will probably go to the marina to get on the ice (difficult to get around people's vehicles with a snowmobile or 4wheeler near the toilets).
