Buddy and I left for Echo early started fishing at first light in 30 FOW. I had 6 average perch on the ice and my buddy pulled out a 11 incher then I did right after. Caught two nice rainbows and one really nice one. Threw them back for someone else but kept 25 perch for dinner. We used everything from little jigging spoons to ratfinkies, as long as it was tipped with perch meat or eyeballs we would get a hit.

Thanks for the report. I'm looking for somewhere to go tomorrow, might just try echo.

Also if you do decide to go there I wouldn't spend a lot of time on a hole if there are no bites.

I hit Echo with my oldest boy on MLK Day. We tried the same spot I had fished two days before but the perch had moved on. Spent the next hour or so testing the blades on my auger in different areas. Finally set up the tent in 40 FOW when the finder showed a bit more activity in the water column. Caught a fat 19" trout that chased my hali from the top to the bottom. We had shoveled the snow off where we set up the tent and my boy really enjoyed watching the fish come up the last 10 feet or so.
Moved three or four more times and ended the day around 4pm with a whopping 4 fish between us.
Ice was a solid 8-9 inches with 1" of water on top.

That's interesting that the perch weren't in the same spot all the times I have went I have been able to locate them close to where I was previously but definitely a nice trout! I have had to switch up rigs a couple times though.
