never been but got the invite to give it a try on thursday........would like to hear an ice report from someone...and all tips are welcome! be my first walk on a Utah hard deck since moving here a couple years ago now( been too busy enjoying the slopes!!)

If you go it may also be your last walk on a Utah hard deck. As warm as it has been I would be concerned about the quality of the ice at Bountiful Lake. If it does have safe ice, be aware that it is really shallow out a long ways along the bank where the canal enters the lake. Out towards the island you will find deeper water and likely catch is small planter rainbow trout and possible catch is large mouth bass, carp and just about every other fish that will survive in that lake (the bucket biologists have been busy over the years).

i saw a couple people out there last week but no one over the weekend...i would be very cautious

thanks for the heads up, yeah we are a bit concerned about the ice quality so i was hoping someone on Bigfish has been over there recently to see if worth the trip . we take safety very seriously and even wear life jackets but i dont want to go for a swim.

I drive by everyday on my way home. Some people have been fishing it usually everyday including yesterday. the edges dont look bad and I dont see any water out on it but i didnt go out there
