Can anyone tell me if you can get a car down to rabbit gulch ? Was wondering if the roads are snow packed?

The road down to Rabbit Gulch has been plowed by the county and it's not a problem for a car right now. If there is recent snow, you might have a problem unless you have a front wheel drive car. Right now you should be good to go!

So how is the catching in rabbit?

I was there today. There was a front wheel drive car parked down by the ice. The road was mostly clear. Just a little packed snow on either shoulder. Once you get past the guard shack it is all packed down snow. I think a front wheel drive car would be fine.

Argh! The catching was terrible. 3 guys and we all got the skunk. Absolutely awesome weather tho. So I can't complain to much. Didn't screen a single thing all day. Just couldn't find em.

We had quite the opposite experience, as we likely caught well over 100 perch between us two yesterday. I've found that you gotta keep moving and drilling until you find active fish. Don't hang for more than 5-10 minutes at most if you aren't getting bit. And it pays to get away from the parking area this late in the season. Also, sometimes they are very particular about depth... it was 20 feet for us yesterday.
