Fished the narrows from about 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, ice was 1/4 inch of crystal snow on top, 4-5 inches of packed snow and slush, 7-8 inches of hard clear ice. Two feet of open water around the shore. Almost no activity until 5:30 when the fish started showing up, at which point a massive school showed up and provided three fast dinner guests. Those guys disappeared until 6:00 and then I had a solid block of fish under me until I hit my limit at 7:30 and left. At one point there was a column of fish under me so thick that my fish finder started seeing the bottom at 40 FOW instead of 60 FOW. Lowering my line into the mass was interesting, it was constantly being jostled by fish swimming by. Green and orange or pink in glow in the dark worked best with a chunk of nightcrawler. Got some good hits on a shiny gold tungsten jig too.
