I see they have started getting a few Walleyes at Utah lake, when do they usually start spawning at DC is it much longer after Utah lake? Is it around the same time the perch and crappie do?

[#0000FF]Walleyes show up in the lower Provo River usually sometime in April.

Perch usually spawn just ahead of the walleyes.

Crappies spawn when water temps are 55-60...late April into May.

There are variables every year...based on water levels, water temps and weather.

Sounds like a few more weeks, I'm anxious to get after them. Not as much of the bucket brigade at DC.

Thanks

[#0000FF]There are still plenty of happy harvesters along the lower Provo...using "Provo dry flies" (treble hooks). Unlike Utah Lake the tributaries of Deer Creek are not closed to fishing during the walleye spawn.

If you want to have a better shot at catching them legally...without a lot of company...fish the rocky areas below the Heber Creeper tracks. It is best late afternoon and evening...especially if there is a breeze splashing waves onto the rocks. Not as pleasant for fishermen but more attractive to spawning walleyes.
