I went to the Cathouse on Wednesday and Thursday. Water temp was 47 degrees. I had a slow start on Wed, and got to really hitting them about 2:00 in the afternoon. Then I got 18 in about 3 hours.
On Thursday I again didn't get started good until after 2:00 and again it kicked into over drive. I got 17 On Thursday. The two largest were 12 pounds and 14 pounds.
I found them at the point of Islands and behind log jams.
Here are a few pictures of some of them. I forgot my camera mount and didn't get very good pictures

Always enjoy your posts Ron. Do you eat some of those Kitty's or catch and release. Love to see some of those cooked up.

I wish I would have not forgotten my camera mount. Oh well I forget it every year. I didn't keep any this time. My rule is no keeping over 24".

Nice report and impressive looking fish. I was just thinking yesterday it was about the time of year you start these posts and I should pm you for advise on catching some kitties.

Nice Ron. Wish we had the quantity of large cats in Utah that you have in Idaho.

To be honest where I fish this is the average. I am still trying to find a place to break 15 pounds. Those fish have dodged me. If I don't catch at least five 30" fish on a trip I am disappointed.

Rub it in Ron. As you probably know, we have a catfish catching contest in Utah, North vs South and there were only 5 catfish caught that were 30 inches or longer, with the largest only going 32 inches.
I may need to get some use out of my 2016 annual Idaho fishing license, that I purchased awhile back.

I wanted to do a Utah vs Idaho catfish contest. Someone from Utah said that it wouldn't be fare even if it was Utah vs me. I did laugh about that a little.
You should do a Brownlee trip some time, and do it in August. You will catch more cats in a couple days than the guys on the Utah board will their whole season. In one 12 hour period my son and I caught over 100 catfish. We actually got sick of it and started trolling and still caught them on everything from cranks to top water buzz baits.

How far into Idaho is Brownlee?

From the area you fish for Sturgeon if you stay on the highway you would have to go another two hours to three hours depending where you went.

I was hoping it was closer to Utah, rather than on the Idaho/Oregon border. Would be quite a commitment for me to go up there to catch some cats, but who knows what the future holds.
