I'm going to be up by Hyrum Reservoir this weekend. Just wondering if anyone has any information on the fishing? I have seen the fishing report, but wanted to get a second opinion by you guys. Thanks

From Shore unfortunately. I'll be staying at one of the cabins on the reservoir

Last weekend the shore guys at the beach outfished me in a boat. They were really pulling the fish in. We got three trolling in the boat. It was slowish but still fun. Later J

Has anyone targeted bass in Hyrum? How is the bass fishing there? Can I put a kayak in without having to go through the ramp?

Those that know how to fish bass at Hyrum do very well. I'm not one of them though so I can't help much. You may be able to drag a kayak over the west end rocks but I'd pay and go in either swim beach or the launch ramp it will be way easier and save your craft some scratches. Good luck. J

I usually do pretty good for bass early in the year during the spawn time, stick to the brush and sticks. After the spawn they go on the prowl, look for the brush with good ambush areas.
I would just pay and launch at swim beach, fish the shallows and stay away from the power squadron, they might have some trouble seeing a kayak. Definitely have some hi-visibility colors on you.
