Fishing is picking up. You can launch at either ramp but the road is pretty muddy in between. The smallmouth are getting a little more active these past couple days

How's the water clarity? I wouldn't mind getting up there to chase some prespawn smallies.

Definitely murky. River is bringing a good amount of run off in

Thanks for the info, that's good to know. It was crazy how clear it was last spring with the mild winter. I had a feeling it would be murkier this year.

So I hit Oneida today. It was murky but not as bad as I thought it would be. But, threw everything I had at both walleye and smallies and nothing. One other boat on the water and he wasn't having any luck either. 2 F&G guys were putting up some signs and talked to them. They said the walleye fishing has really slowed right now since the ice came off early and some did real well after ice went off. They said it will be another 4-6 weeks at spawn before another big hit comes on for eyes. And they figured it would be a short window, but a good opportunity to latch on to a few.
Good luck. Little wind, lots of sun, no clouds, ideal weather - 70 and water temp was running 56.

That's really surprising. Water in the mid 50s on a warming trend with the full moon approaching should have gotten the bass going. I think I'll chase their green cousins tomorrow and hope for the best.
