Pulled the boat out of storage saturday to get it ready to roll. got it vacuumed up and batteries put in, cranked it up with the hose/earmuffs attached with no issue. next thing you know were getting smacked by a hail storm

Sunday we launched at PV just before 11am in a good down pour . I tell my buddy "sometimes the fishing gods reward such effort"
it was great to see the water level way back up again. and there was a lot of cover in the water due to this. we proceeded to cast in and around said cover and i connected early with a smaller Tiger...
that lifted our spirits~~ a few high fives and back to casting....in the rain........water was really flat, and we pretty much had the reservior to ourselves. we saw 2 other trailers in the lot but only saw one other boat all day long. water temp was right at 55 degrees.
.....about an hour later, i hear a disturbance on the water next my boat , good size fish followed my buddys lure to the boat and turned tail and ran.........next cast .......another follow......i see him this time. i yell "figure 8" ........and WHAM!!! the fish ate right at boatside and goes ballistic!
Fish starts thrashing and i swoop down with the net. She didnt like the looks of the net and proceeds to peel drag for about 50 feet .....after wrestling the fish for another couple minutes we get her boatside again. and she ran us around the backside of the boat and all the way around to the front where the fishing line gets snagged on the trolling motor! i drop the net and undo the line on the trolling motor and the next thing you know the line snags the \hook on the lure from the other rod.....pure pandemonium........i unhook the lure without any issue , grab the net just in time for the fish to rise to the surface and in she swims!
just slightly under 44 inches of pure muscle and teeth...great way to start the musky season...
