Fished The south west corner of Willard today.. Only fished for 2 hrs..
The 1st photo is a WHOPPER !! Caught on a rattle trap.. You may not be impressed but, Just remember I was only using 6 lbs test. [cool]
The 2nd photo you may not be to impressed either but, its not a bad fish at all..[:p]
BUT Now for the 3rd photo.. Now your going to be IMPRESSED ! They don't grow much bigger in this state.. The box is 14" long.. Mussels were the ticket and yes all went back to be caught again.. Oh, except the 1st one.. Had to take it home to clean it up.. [Wink]

Notice where his rattle trap is, wasn't supposed to be a fish in there. Later J

That first one looks kinda like one that got away from my brother a year or so ago along the south dike. But he looked at it and said at least he wasn't the only one to lose one out there.

Those are some nice perch.

Not cropped. I caught a reel and pole.

If that's his pole, I'll be glad to give it back.

That's a lucky catch. Three weeks ago while fishing with my oldest son I donated an Ugly Stik to Willard while helping him bring in a Wiper. I saw my pole bouncing and before I could get over to there it ripped out of the pole holder and over the rock wall I had built. I watched that thing race out to open water before I could do much about it.
The one that got away must have been pretty nice.

Last year I also donated a fishing pole to the collection that willard bay has.So hard to see them go and not be able to do anything about it

We've picked up several through the years bottom bouncing.

[#0000FF]I also do a lot of bait dragging and bottom bouncing with jigs. And I have brought in several rods. Most have been in the lake a while and the reels are usually shot. However, I have been able to salvage and rewrap the blanks on a few.

Two years ago, I had a rod hijacked by a wiper at the southwest corner. chased it in as far as I could see it. It was gone[:/]. Dripping wet and cold I packed up. Next day grab my other rod and went back . Notice a couple of guys trolling not far from shore. one of the guys hooked up. then I heard him say its just some line, but there is some thing on it. hand over hand he pulled and landed a nice wiper. he keep pulling and I seen my rod come out of the water. I yelled that looks like the pole I lost yesterday. I explained how I lost it and gave a description of it and they returned it. Asked If I wanted the thief that stole it. I told them that I was sure they would give him justice in a nice taco.
