Do any of you know where I can buy a gallon of parts cleaning solvent in the Davis/Weber area? I would like to get some to clean wheel bearing parts. Somewhere close to Clinton would be best.

Thanks,

Have you tried Harbor Freight, Lowe's, Home Depot, AutoZone, Oreilly, or Napa?

Yes, I have and the closest they come is lacquer thinner. I was hoping someone actually knew where I could buy a gallon of auto parts cleaning solvent. But then again, maybe auto parts cleaning solvent and lacquer thinner are the same thing. But I doubt it.

Thanks fish_hntr,

I called Napa earlier and they said that they didn't carry it (obviously they do on-line). I use to get it from them years ago ... but no more.

I was driving around town recently and seen a billboard saying "we sell propane and solvent". But I don't remember where I seen that. Sure wish I could remember.

I use carburetor cleaner in the non-aerosol form called Berryman Chem Dip Carburetor and Parts cleaner. Works great and costs about $18 or so. I buy it at Walmart. Here's a link:

they sell solvent at the gas pumps at cardwell oil in midvale but you should be able to find a station up north , it's around 4 buck a gallon .

I might be a bit late to this but I get mine in 5 gal cans from Kellerstraus on 2550 in the Ogden Industrial park. They are refillable after you buy your first can.

Bingo!!!

Thanks Liberty, that is the place that I seen them advertise it and I couldn't remember.

Again, thanks!
