My son is coming home from college and I want to take him fishing and wondered if the bluegills have moved up to the shallows at Mantua, or if I wouild be better off going to Strawberry. Anyone got any wise counsel for me?

I was there sunday and didn't catch anything. Had a few little nibble on midges I put on. Didn't spot a single bluegill what so ever plus it was crazy windy when I went.

Thanks for the reply. I went up about 3 weeks ago and it was the same with nobody even seeing anything from boats or shore. Have a great weekend and thanks again.

I had a friend come up from California last week, who's never been here, e hit pinview, Willard, Mantua and Hyrum. Cought just a couple at Mantua sit did our best at Hyrum, drifting a worm, (if you have a boat. ) he loved utah😊

I hadn't even thought of Hyrum, and haven't actually fished it except through the ice. I do have a little boat though and a bunch of worms sitting in my garage fridge. Thanks for the tip, I will give a report of how we do.

Thanks again for the tip on Hyrum. I went up on Friday and fished along the south (or southwest) side and just drifted along in the boat dragging a worm with no weight. We didn't swamp the boat with fish but did catch 3 each and kept 4 to turn into fish fritters. It was my son's first fishing in over 2 years so I was as stoked as he was when he hooked the first one. The biggest was a little over 17" and the smallest a couple of inches shorter. Good fat rainbows all. So thanks again, and good fishing.

That's great that you had time with your son. He will cherish it. Yesterday I took my dad out for his birthday. He is 73 and very fragile I wasn't sure i could get him out of the boat. He did make it and is talking about going again. But he said he needs a month to recover. Fishing is a great way to bond.
