Went out today from Lincoln. I have a small farm about 5 miles away so that is my home dock! Took my daughter and wife foe around over to the orchard...right about the middle, tossed the hook in about 2.5' water with rock on the bottom. We only had an hour or so before the weather chased us off and we couldn't hook anything but they liked the stinky dip bait on a treble today. I have a goal of getting both my kids on the end of a rod with a nice #5 kitty on the other end but she was too tentative to do it today. Now, dad? When should I set it? All the while, the rod is dipping and straightening. Oh well, with all that food he will be a #6 when we go after him again!

Sounds like a great adventure.

Better day today. Got TubeDude's book and learned about The Knolls so I motored over there today, raised the out drive and inched closer and closer to shore on electric. Finally dropped anchor in about 2' water 35' off the bank. Got a decent 24" on dip bait with a treble.

[#0000FF]Glad you got a serious tug. But I suggest you ditch the dip bait and start using "natural" food items...like carp meat, white bass meat, minnows, etc. The prepared baits WILL work, but you will do far better with what they eat in their regular diet.

Welcome to our weird world.

In addition to what TD said, the natural bait isn't as gross to fish with so your company will like it better. Thanks for a great report. J
