I got the chance to take out my nephew and his son out to give them a chance of catching something besides trout ,so i decided to get them out to Willard bay Sunday morning. We arrived at 8 am alarmed to find shockingly few boats on lake and beautiful weather. We started trolling near the light pole at 2.7 mph 125 back from the planer boards. We set up some shad raps in the usual colors and picked up our first Walleye right away. The action was sporadic with long periods of no action and times where we had double or triple hook ups . There was no real areas that we keyed on mainly stayed on the south side of the lake out in the openness . My nephew and his son both caught their first Walleyes and Wipers and were very very surprised by their fight . We ended the day with 4 good Walleye and about 20 Wipers and some big s great times. Of course the bugs were a challenge and the south fish station was still down but we managed just fine. Thanks to those who stayed home we had the lake mostly to our selves.
