Hi TubeN2,
It would be interesting to see what they (DFG) says about their program for those volcanic and lava strewn areas way up north where lakes, rivers and streams exist!
I actually took a university level class in California geography (wanted to be a forest service guy but became a marine.... straight to 1968 Nam instead) and hoped to go the Humbolt or Redwoods to get a degree in forestry. Life is pretty funny huh?

It's funny how that works out. Besides fishing all my life, I also became an electrical and plumbing contractor. Followed my Dads foot steps with the fishing and followed my grandpas with the electrical.
Later on I became an instructor for the American Red Cross. People weren't comfortable with and electrician teaching them how to save lives, so I went to EMT school and got my state license as an Emergency Medical Technician. They were fine with that and they pay more attention.
No I still do electrical and plumbing but I am working with LA County Fire Dept. And teaching quite often at the ARC.
It's strange how our destinies work out.
