I took one of my girls up to Pineview tonight for a few hours in the kayak and had a great time. We found the crappie under a huge flooded tree and just fished right over top of them. She was amazed we could unhook a fish, drop back down and almost instantly hook another. We left with 10 and got hone in time to fillet before it was dark.

Wow. Nice. How about from the shore?

I don't know how well shore fishing has been there this year with the water level as high as it is. I have only fished Pineview this year over ice and in the kayak.
Personally I would prefer to fish right on top of the crappie rather than through bobber rigs. I hate losing gear.
If you have to fish the shore the pump house area is usually good.

Do you mind sharing how you rigged up. Great picture, by the way. Looks like she'll be a fisherperson for life!

That, is an award winning photo.......I would bet you could sell that to a fishing mag. as a cover photo.

awesome pic!!!!!!!! took my 7 and 8 year old out there 2 weeks ago, ended up with limits and called our friends over for fish tacos. catching fish like that is so valuable for young kids, gets them the fever for the upcoming days where the fishing isn't so good. my 7 year old boy tells people that "we don't go fishing, we go catching"
keep her on the water!!!!!!

Thanks all.
As far as my rig, I just had a 1/8 oz crappie jig with Chart Gulp curly tail. I like the chartreuse because even if I can't see the fish below me I can see the jig disappear into their mouth. You can't go wrong with Gulp baits. So far this year on Gulp I have caught Wipers, Walleye, SMB, LMB, Crappie, Cats, Bullhead, Perch, Irish Lord and Polluck( Alaska).
