Fished at Lincoln this a.m. with Catrat and Catcarsen. Fishing for cats was as good as it gets. We could not keep 6 rods in the water. At one time we had four cats on at the same time. Biggest was 26 1/2 and all of them were between 24 and 26 inches. Best bait seemed to be carp meat but wb and chubs worked too.

It was Catrat's first trip out after some serious back surgery so every fish he caught upped his contest score. Good to have him back on the water.

The water level is noticeably lower than it was last week. The low spot mid-channel was a measly 1.1 ft. deep. The joint-line in the cement at the bottom of the launch was below the water line last week and today it was a foot above the water level. My trailer dropped off the end of the cement... first time this year. If it keeps dropping at the present rate there will be no water in the launch channel.

I'm gonna look for a 14 foot aluminum boat that I can man-handle into the water. If anyone has one they want to unload shoot me a pm.

Fun trip today. Calm seas and lots of cats. We were on the water at 6:30 and off by 9:30 before the heat got too bad.

Sounds like another great trip. I glad CR was able to have some fun too! The water level sounds pretty discouraging. I guess we better get out while we can.

Did you see any sign of spawned out fish?

Thanks for the report!

good on the cats, sound like there still really active at least those same 24-26 inch ones, it gets kinda hectic sometimes with all the poles bouncing at once, [Wink]

I was wondering if I could still launch with out falling off the end, not good its going down pretty fast, I'm gona have to find a little boat to for this fall, maybe we can find another place to launch after all the water is out of Lincoln harbor.

Pisco-- I could not see any indication that the females we caught had spawned out. We did not keep any and the ones that appeared to be female were all pot-bellied. The males are lookin' pretty rough now... kinda like they been thrashin' and brawlin' around in the rocks. Love must be tough for tom cats.

MSM-- Agree on the dropping water. A small aluminum job might soon be the only way to get out. I tried the pontoon thing last year and it resulted in a near-death experience... tubes and toons are not an option for me.

By the way, I still have your first-30- incher prize in my truck. Eventually I will catch up with you and make the hand off.

Fun times.

I sure hate to hear that. I was planning on doing some serious cat fishing this summer.

Hey BLK nice job!!! I'll bet your grandsons will always remember the fun times fishing with you. Glad the bite was active. Don't know how you can fish 6 rods from a boat. I get two tangled on the shore most trips if the fish are biting. Nice report J

Here is some intersting info from the CUWCD website. The graphs show UL water levels, Outlow at DC and flow at Harbor Drive on the Lower Provo.

The data are for about the last 30 days and show a big decrease in water reaching UL while the outflow from DC remains almost constant.

By my estimate, the last spike in UL level would be about 4". I wish I could figure out how to get the image inline.

Nice job Lynn !

Glad to hear you have the whole team healthy and active now.
Sounds like the cats are also still in compete mode. I haven't made it down to LB yet this year, but everytime I read your successful post I start to get a serious case of the DT's.........
I'm going to have to get down there soon, more than likely in my toon the way it sounds. Keep up the good work !

Tight Lines............
