So I moved and I am used to fishing UL for kitty's now I an much closer to Willard. The problem is I have no idea where to shore fish for them. I usually fish shrimp from the bottom either at Lincoln beach or Lindon, AF. Can some one help with a good spot on Willard for same approach. I have never been there so directions or map would be nice. You can pm me if you like and I can be discreet with your treasured spots. Thank you in advance.

Lucky, best way to fish Willard for just about anything is from a boat. But having stated you would be shore fishing, go to the south marina. At the entrance to the marina road there is a new paved parking lot you can park in without paying the park entrance fee. Just about anyone that may be hanging around that area can direct you to any number of possible spots that can be fished off the rocks. But about all of them could be quite a walk.
Welcome to WB. For now at least it has lots more water in it than UL. But I doubt you will catch any Cats in the same large size range as at UL. Not saying they aren't there, just not anywhere as plentiful as they once were.

Drop a PM to TubeDude and ask for his maps and essays about Willard. Even the DWR doesn't have as much info as TD does.

[#0000ff]Hope you make friends with Willard and that you manage to learn enough to score a few fish. The cats are smaller in Willard but plenty of them...and they are some of the best eating cats in the country.

Thank you very much TD. I was not aware you had wrote a book. Is it about Utah waterways of fishing in general and where might I obtain a copy. Sounds like a good read for any aspiring angler.

[#0000FF]I am attaching the basic info. It is in PDF file format on a CD. Easiest for me to put together, edit, change, update or whatever. Less expensive than paper too.
I have similar works on Utah Lake and on Tubing and Tooning...CD format.
I have written quite a few other things, based upon my past decades of experience in both fishing and on Utah waters. Send me a PM, letting me know your fishing interests and I might tuck in a couple of freebies on other subjects.

LWN, it is well worth it to get with TD and buy all his CDs, I got all the ones for the lakes I fish, there is a lot of good info for the beginner to the expert, its always good to get another point of view and TDs are some of the best.[

I'm sure I will be. I haven't had the chance to read what he sent but I was astonished at the volume of good information I saw when I skimmed it. I will be reading it tonight as I head to WB. Thank you so much.

Hey, just be sure someone else is driving while you are reading. [pirate] I have much of the info TD has written, and if UL ever gets at least half full again I will be back down there.
Good luck wherever you wet a line. [fishin]

LWN,
I will have to second what MSM1970 has stated. I also have all TD's writings on waters I frequent, very informative...........
Not many anglers around that has TD's knowledge that's so generous with it. I've found any money spent with him whether it be writings, tackle, toon/tube mods are monies WELL spent. I count myself very lucky to call him a friend of mine. Good luck to you on the Willard outing.

So I did make it to Willard with the information supplied by TD and had a good measure of success. I found myself at pelican beach area. We were able to catch about 30-40 channel and a few bluegill. We released all but two kitties for the smoker. Biggest was 22 inches with an average of about 16-18 inches. the information provided was invaluable and appreciated greatly and rest assured I will be in contact with TD to purchase more on my fav waters. Most were caught under a bobber about three feet with a 2 inch curly tail tipped with worm or shrimp. Some off the bottom with worm or shrimp and Snell hook.
All in all a good trip. Thank you to all who gave of their knowledge to help.
