Ok guys you will like this one. During my recent snapper season, in Federal waters, I fished on a private reef, just south of Alabama (that is all I will say regarding location! HA)
Anyway as we were idling up to the reef, in 100' of water, about 100 yards from the reef, in all directions you could see red snapper everywhere. They were breakifng the surface.
So we quickly caught our 2 fish each (ridiculous) and began to toss cigar minnows to these poor starving snapper.
Attached is a small video of the feeding frenzy. No shortage of red snapper, at all. In fact, I consider them predators . If you can get through the red snapper, you might be able to catch something else.
