I went up to East Canyon last week and found literally hordes of dink smallies right up against large rocks along shore. Nothing larger than 8" and most of them were half that.

Saw nothing bigger on my finder, and saw few people catching anything at all except trout on bait.

Welcome to the site HFB, as I'm sure you are aware, Utah lake is the closest lake to you but I'm not sure about nice SM there, it does have some nice LM bass. Deer creek and Jordanelle are the next closest to you but there are few nice ones that I'm aware of, as mentioned, Pineview might be your best shot for nice SM bass but you would need to really work for them.
