Have not been since the night CFF so I thought I would try and beat the heat by going early. emoTskTsk Did not happen, man it got hot this morning. No breeze, no current, no clouds, just hot and sunny. It was the dog days of summer that is for sure. Struggled a little but found a couple wanting to play. Never found a pattern to speak of. I caught the first one on a crank, then two on a Cutthroat sloppy joe jig and five more on a shakey. Nothing all that big, had three shorts and five keepers. Best in the bunch was one right at four pounds. Then had a couple low threes and a couple twos. In a five fish tournament would of only had about 14 and a half pounds. Focused on drops and grass edges. The four came off a point where there was some deep grass out in the river, really a dark green. The two threes came off of drops in about 15 foot. The twos came off of drops in about 18 to 20 foot. I think the lack of current and the moon last night had the fish shut off. I started at 7:00 this morning and stopped at noon with the temp gauge on my truck showing 94 degrees. emoCrazy

Still not too bad considering. I will take eight bass in five hours on this kind of day. Below is the four, it was the only bass I took a picture of. See you out there. emoAngler Jmax
