Fished from 7:30-12:30 today. Fishing was fast and furious at times but slow at times. Ran out of carp meat and white bass last week but used spotted mackrel today and they seemed to like it ok. Managed 11 kitties today but all were in the 24"-26" range. Can't catch a bump up cat to save my life! All were caught 5' range. This will be my last trip out the channel. Left a mud trail all the way out to the lake. Lots of mud humps. Midway out there were shore birds in the middle of the channel. All cats were fat and friskey.

Man, I share your frustration!! I have not caught a cat longer than 27 inches all year. Times past I have always been able to wrest a 30 incher of two from the Big Lady but not so this year.

It ain't over yet... we still have a little water left and the stupid algae blooms will hopefully go away with cooler weather. I'm watching for a fall feeding frenzy that will surely produce that 36 incher I have been chasing all summer. We just gotta keep after 'em.
