Took the boat to Willard this A.M. with a friend from the bad old days when I had to work. Fishing by 9 and home by 3. Between us, we caught 18 or 19 wipers and a decent walleye. Sounds like a great day, but unfortunately, all fish but three wipers were caught by my buddy. Hard to explain two guys sitting side-by-side, using the same lure and one of them can't keep the fish off and the other one can't buy a bite. At one point I tried to eat a peanut butter sandwich and was rudely interrupted four times to net his fish. Finally refused to start the boat until I'd finished my lunch. Good thing he wants to go again or I'd never hear the end of it.

I hear ya Larry, been there for sure...LOL, our last trip out all the fish were caught on the same side of the boat - yep,his side, but he does like to eat lunch so I got to reel one of them in for him... he's so good to me.... [laugh]
Fatbiker -- I gave you a wave last Tues. while fishing with DuBob at Willard....and I've felt your same pain 3 times this season taking my boat out - once at Flaming Gorge, and then 2 times at Soldier Creek for the Kokanee...and after the first 2 times this happened, I just knew something had to be wrong with my presentation, so I talked to an 'expert' at the Gorge, and he said (esp.) the kokanee had better smell capabilities than some other fish, so maybe I should clean my hands better before hooking up gear...and I'm the one setting up gas tank, hooking up steering rod to my troller, so I've probably been getting that stuff on my hands, and not cleaning it off enough....So I used latex gloves next time at SC, and cleaned off hands again with non-scented hand wipes, rinsed again in the SC water, then chucked lures out to troll, with a

on my face....just knowing this time I'd show my buddy 'who owned the boat'....Well, sir....same bad results for me, watching him reel in kokes, and me 1 smaller cutt for the day.....I'm done with Strawberry and the Gorge for the soft water season, so will just have to see if the fishing gods will be nicer to me (on my side of the boat) next year...I did real good with Bob in his boat, so now I have to try Willard again in my boat....Guluk...

Gets even better when you have to replace a fuel hose on your diesel right before you hit the water, that was a bad trip.... But I have had days where one side of the boat definitely catches more than the other and the next time out it is the opposite side, so who really knows?
