Derek told me he wanted to go but Saturday told me he was going to win some points with the wife and hang with her today. I called Mr. Wiskers who had told me if Derek did not go to call him. He had family also come up and could not go. emoRolleyes At that point I just gave up. Decided since it was just a three fish dog fight format I would just go solo and take my chances without a net man. emoTongue

We have stunk here lately and not had much to show for our efforts. The last Monday nighter me and Derek had just two small keepers. The last CFF, me and James never boated a keeper. My hopes were not too high. All I could hope for was to get a limit and pray for a kicker. Believe it or not that is just what I did. emoAngel I fished from 5 to 20 foot and never found a pattern. However, I boated five keepers and five shorts. I lost what felt like two other good fish reeling them in. emoBang But luckily I did not need them. I was using cranks, shakeys, swims, chatters and jerks. Still focusing on the drops. Either ledge drops or grass drops. I have tried frog fishing but so far not done all that well. I have also tried punching with a big weight and had little success. Today was just a lucky day for me. Had the kicker crush a crank off a point and load up. Knew it was a good one. Kept saying, "Don't come off, please don't come off." emoBigSmile Got the net under her and knew then I might get some money. She was a huge fish but very skinny. Should have gone eight but due to being so skinny she was 6/10. Had another that was 3/15 and one that was 2/10. Those weights were on my scale. On Bobants they went 13.25 lbs. emoDance Good enough for the win and big bass. My other two keepers were 2/0 and 2/5. Not loading the boat but was very happy to have what I did.

I think within the next couple of weeks we will see a much better frog/grass bite. The dang grass is so thick it is hard to fish and the fish are not seeing the baits well. As the grass dies back and tops out that will improve. emoThumbsup The Fall bite should really be good this year based on how much grass I am seeing.

I would like to thank Bobant for doing the weigh in and also Action Alarms for the $400.00 contribution to the pay out. emoThanks Jmax
