Put in at Harrison Bay at safelight. Tried a few spots in the Harrison area with no success. Decided to head north. Stopped at a bluff on the way and caught a 9 1/4 pound cat fish. Slimed my boat and my dip net, but I had to get it in to take a picture. 4 pound test line. Took about 10 minutes to get it in. OK, enough about the cat... after the cat we headed further north. Still no success. Started back hitting some spots that we passed while heading north. Around noon the crappie started hitting for a short time and we caught 10 keepers. We were happy after the way the day started. They quit biting so we took our ten keepers and headed home. Oh and we lost count of how many yearling bass we caught. Water temp started at 78 and last time I checked it was up to 82. The water temp is coming down slowly. The crappie were caught in 25 ft of water close to the bottom. Bobby Garland Baby Shad Mo Glo Outlaw special was my best bait on a 1/16 Oz jig head #2 sickle hook. Tried Monkey Milk and it worked too. Brian was also using Outlaw Special. He tried Cajun Cricket and it worked too. My wife gave me her old tablet after I bought her a new one so I might be able to put some pics on here. Gonna see!!!
