Day 1 at the Riverpark we blasted off and made a run for the dam. Started out throwing jigs and shakeys. I put 2 keepers in the livewell pretty quick. Both about 2.5#s a piece. Fished for a lil while with a few bites here and there and a few short fish. Brought in half a worm a few times after a swing and a miss. I had another fish jump off near the boat that looked to be a better fish than the two we had. A lil while later Earl gets our third keeper weighing about the same as the other two. We fished the area for a bit longer and decided to move. No luck with the bass but Earl hooked up with our prize winning trash fish. A 13# drum. Big enough to win the trash fish pot. We never could get our other two keepers so we ended up with 7.57# I believe. Day 2 at the Chick we went to our first spot and Earl caught a few shorts and put our first keeper in the boat pretty quick. I got our next two keepers shortly after that. They were all twins. Just shy of 2# a piece. I caught a few shorts also. But the bite got tough and we decided to make a move. Again no luck with anymore bass anywhere we tried. Might should have just stayed put and tried to get two more lil ones. Who knows? But it sure was nice to feel some wind on the boat ride. Did I mention it was hot? Again we could not get our other two keepers and ended up with 5.57#? Ended up with 13# and some change which was good enough for 3rd place. Congrats to the others who placed and for everyone in that matter that toughed those hot days out along with tough fishing. Had a blast this year and look forward to the next one.
