The Bass fishing the past few weeks has been in a somewhat "inconsistent" pattern. The bite has been a lot better with a Choo Choo Lures Swimjig than most other patterns. The Snag Proof Frog bite has been showing a lot of promise with the grass finally forming a consistent "muck" for the fish to relate to, so the next few weeks this pattern should be a lot of fun. "BUT", when all else gets just plain ole "boring", break out the light gear and get the frying pan ready for some "Big-G Slabs". The Crappie have been a little behind along with the Bass, but when you do find the right area and depth, the switch can turn on and these guys can be a lot of fun, and just plain ole "DANG GOOD EATIN"! I got out today to look for a few slabs and with the water being down and the weather still a little warmer than normal I found the Crappie still staging in some of the deeper areas, but with the cooler temps approaching they should start stacking up very soon around some of the deeper structure and grass areas. Get out and have some fun. Mike Carter
