i know it's been a while for me posting on here but. been really busy this year.. only fished E-lake 2 times in the spring and yuba 3 time in the spring. then i was out of town most all the summer.
but i have been working on painting up some new minnow lures. in a red side shiner pattern, and a utah chub pattern.. both hve been working good so fare on the 1 time i tryed the red side's at E-lake and the other day at Joe's Valley we did good on the chub pattern there as well.. we trolled the lake all day for 3 fish.. 1 18 inch cutt i caught on a custom painted quick fish (and yes i know the other spelling to but my supplier spells it that way) that i got 3 or 4 other hits on as well but only one fish to the boat.. laster in the day we went to the north end and just getting ready to give up buddy just said we give it a good try when wham fish on! after getting polls tangled and untangled and a good 5 min fight a nich 8 pound 35 inch tiger musky come in on the yellow chub pattern.. so we said lets stay a bet longer. he put the other yellow chub on and off we went again about 20 min's later wham he smacked another nice fish.. this time we got in with out to much tangling up i hate the small boat.. but we did get it in a nice 5 .23 cutt. and yes i did have a scale on the boat.. dave is a really big guy so fish dont look so big with him holding them.. i got some pic's

Nice fish Ron! Those are some sweet looking lures too. Good job on developing your craft.

Thanks for the report! Did you have any issues launching your boat? The last time that I was down there in mid-September the water was just about to the end of the ramp, and I think its come down quite a bit since then. Were you launching on the steel plating? Thanks, Fred.

Nice looking lures by the way ;0)

thats why i took the small boat.. the water is way past the ramp and on some grading stuff put down is all bent up and twisted about 4 feet out.. so stay to the south side of the ramp or jack knife the traler at the end to get in..

oh and on a side note watch for rocks even way out we hit a rock on the south end 30 feet off the bank in 12 feet of water.. [shocked]

thanks on the lures.. been making them for JV and E-Lake.. going up to E-lake this morning to try some red side out..

last Friday the DWR was up doing gillneting and seen some monster Cutt's and Tigers coming in the nets !!!! [sly][Smile]

Ron, great to hear you are still on the right side of the grass.

Nice report and great looking lures. Glad to hear there are some larger fish in Electric Lake. I sure enjoy fishing that pond, from my boat, just wish they could keep the water up longer so I could still launch.

I fished Joe's Valley about 10 days ago and I launched my 18.5 foot Lund without any trouble. Like Ron mentioned, watch out for some upturned edges on the Pierced Steel Planking. The water is clear enough you can see where the problems are and avoid them.

We were fishing for muskie and we hooked one and lost it before we had a chance to see it. We did get four cutts and four splake while using large (5") swimbaits. It's a beautiful time to hit the lake with the fall colors.

WOW ...... Nice finish on the lures. Is that epoxy or urethane? I like the red eyes.

Wow fuzzy..I haven't posted much on here the last few year's, but I do look on here and I've wondered about you. I thought something bad may have happened so I'm glad your still as ugly as ever and still kicking around. Also those are some good looking lures don't pick on the fish to much down their with them lol.

it's epoxy on them.. the kind that takes like 24 hours to dry.. lol and you have to keep them turning all the time. lol kind-a a pain in the butt, but the best finish i have found.
the big problem i have is some of the blanks i got are not very good and get water in them and it over.. lol some are really good tho.
im starting to get the higher end blanks so should stop a lot of that..

Nice fish and lures, Ron. I was down on the Boulder and hit Skyline on the way home fishing and started thinking about you. Been a while. Maybe we can hit the ice again this year!
