Missed the morning bite completely. Had to follow up on some work that morning but got out later to do a little frogging. After what Derek and I found in the CBA Classic this past weekend and after reading Buddy Gross&#39;s post on his and Alex&#39;s win in the Classic I was really wanting to get out and try some more grass action. I may have missed the better bite but still was able to put a few in the boat with a couple pretty decent bass.<br /><br />The west bank of the Chick is getting pounded the last week or so with high winds and waves. That has caused some of the mats to already start to disappear each day. 
Since there is still another 4 foot plus of lake level drop to go some mats are still not even showing. emoThumbsup The thinner mats are where I am having most of my luck. Flipping, punching and frogging are all productive if you find the right mats with active bream and shad. It was just a fun afternoon, I love to watch a bass blow up on a frog in the grass. Not much more as an angler will get that heart rate up then that. emoTongue Got to see that several times yesterday. The other thing I like about the middle of the week is you don&#39;t usually have a bunch of company. Big difference when you don&#39;t have to take a number and get in line to fish a mat.<br /><br />It will only get better in the next week or so with the water levels falling and the temps too. Then come around the last of Nov. most of the grass will be high and dry. emoBawl Below are a couple of my better bass yesterday. Either one of those would have been a $500.00 bass for me and Derek. Would have culled a two pounder and gotten us up into 3rd place in the CBA Classic, day late and a few bucks short. emoBooHoo Jmax
