I launched from the south marina at Willard around 8:00am Saturday morning and turned West just outside the wake less zone pulling a blue chrome and orange Rattlin Rap and a crawdad pattern Shad Rap at 2 mph. 15 minutes later I hooked and landed my first small Wiper about 16" on the Rattlin Rap. I put the line back out and as I put the rod in the holder I had my second fish on, a carbon copy of the first, so I pulled in the Shad Rap and put out another Rattlin Rap and circled back through the same water no more takers then I went out and around the Island with no love and then trolled to the Feed Lot. and was getting ready to anchor and soak some mussels when I noticed a large group of birds just outside Freeway Bay diving on the water. I pulled both rods in and stowed the trolling motor and fired up the outboard and ran over to the birds. When I got there I put out both lines and trolled trying to stay under the diving birds. Which worked great as long as I was able to keep up with the working birds, it was fast action in about 45 minutes I caught 8 Wipers with a couple doubles, all large fish over 20" with the largest at 25". As soon as the birds stopped diving near me and moved the bite stopped as well. I called it a day around 11:30 am.
