Hi everybody. I'm a newbie here. I'm interested in everything about fishing. I'm a little bit crazy about it. [Tongue] I have had fishing only in Russia before. Actually I can tell a lot about fishing in Russia (if somebody is interested in it haha). And here I am. I just stay for a while and read what wise people write about their fishing experience.

I prefer freshwater. Actually I live in the middle of Ural mountains. There are a lot of rivers where we go fishing with friends. Freshwater fishing is the most relaxing process I think so. Smile I managed to find few perfect places, I learned a lot about them and I even became a guide for my friends during our weekly fishing. So I can share some thougts about learning freshwater an its inhabitants behavior to finding perfect places.

What kind of fish are you catching there and were you using bait or lures to catch them?

It's north fishing, so it's usually perch, jackfish, orfe, bream.
Rarely - taimen, siberian white salmon (nelma). It's a luck! Smile

As for me, I use spinning, zherlitsa, feeders, worms. And what about you?
I wonder what kind of fish is popular in your region and what tackles are more common?

It is really interesting, tnx in advance.

Not really sure what some of those fish are or if the ones I do know are the same as what you call them but we do have perch, bream and kokanee salmon. I'll attach some pictures of the three I listed and you can tell me if the look the same as the fish you have there. We use worms for the perch and bream but for the salmon we troll for those fish with dodgers and lures. Other fish I fish for are walleye, wipers(hybrid cross between a white bass and a striper bass), lake trout and cutthroat trout. I usually fish for those fish by trolling crank baits or normal trout lures like Rapalas.

Hey Serge,
Welcome to BFT, lots to learn here and I'm sure fish are pretty universal so it will most likely work on your side of the pond as well... Not sure if all the names of lures are common, but learning how to tease the fish into biting is probably very similar... Welcome aboard... J
