Put in at Haletown around 9 am, had a minor disaster right off the bat. Just as I unhooked the winch from the boat, my foot slipped off the trailer and I went in over my knees, stopped just short of serious territory so I didn't go into shock. Shucked my jeans and got into my coveralls and blasted off, temp was in the low fifties so it wasn't too bad with my shoes squishing water with every move. Hit a couple of spots trying to find some crappie with no luck. after giving up on crappie, I threw a square bill and lipless cranks around and picked up five lm. Two were keepers but barley, released all. Went to a spot on a ledge off the channel and it started to rain. I thought, since I ran two miles up here, I might as well see if their here. First cast brought a nice 12" crappie, it started to rain harder. Two more casts got two keepers. Hung around about an hour and had 8 crappie, smallest was ten and a half, largest was thirteen. Had a couple of small largemouth that I released. The current picked up and the bite stopped, so I brought my soggy feet home.
