Does anyone know when electric lake freezes? I was watching the 2015 kokanee seminar that the dwr put on youtube and they said that electric lake had some kokanee in it that were ready to catch. I would like to try my hand at catching some through the ice like I do in Idaho.

I'm very interested in that too! Maybe I should check it out this weekend and if it's a no go, I'll head over to Scofield for some chub bait...

The shallower north end usually has fishable ice about the same time that the main body of Scofield has ice of 3 or 4 inches thick. The south end (by the dam) typically takes a few weeks longer to freeze. Be aware that after it has snowed (like it already has this year) that it is a long walk from the north, through high snow drifts, unless one has a snowmobile. From the dam, it is shorter but steep hike to the ice.

Drove by the dam last Thursday while cow elk hunting. There was a thin layer of ice forming but still some open water.
