Live in bluebell Utah.
My main preference is trout and the only time I fish is in the winter, I have been hooked on ice fishing since I was 12. I fish a few lakes around my home but once the berry is froze I am usually there from Friday after work until Sunday afternoon

Do you camp on the ice? I have been rattling that idea around this year and have been trying to find good info on how to do it comfortably.

If we just stay for the night we just keep the tents hot and stay up for the night and leave around 9 the next morning, but if we stay the weekend we will pull our camp trailer then we can go sleep whenever we want and can do it comfortable and not freeze. But I honestly have some of my best success at the berry at night I really think it has to do with less pressure than during the day, most think my group of guys is nuts

When you sleep in an ice tent, do you use a cot or sleep on pads on the ice? I'm thinking either pads on the floor, then a bivy with another sleep pad in it, then my -20 bag...or the bag on top of a padded cot. Also I've heard people express doubt in the infallibility of O2 sensors, so they turn off their heaters rather than risk waking up to St. Peter at the pearly gates.

We have the lawn chairs that recline back and my propane burner keeps the tents plenty warm we just stick behind our head and shut our eyes
Alot of nights if fishing is fast you won't have time to sleep
