Fished yesterday with my buddy from Nashville, our annual trip before New Years. Started on a point near a pocket, lots of bait and fished stacked on the graph in 9-11ft in a very small spot with some old grass still there. Caught, lose term, a few bass in the 2.5-4.5lb range and some big crappies. I say caught, but half our bass and all of our crappies were hooked way outside the mouth with one of the bigger bass hooked near the tail. Not sure if they were swiping at the cranks and getting foul hooked or if we were actually snagging them. Nearly evry cast, to a small spot, we could feel our baits or line hitting fish. Strangest thing. We tried jerks, jigs, t-rigs, but could only get them on the cranks.

Tried a few more areas, just covering water and cranking for a bass here and there. Seemed anywhere we found some leftover grass, we would catch one. By 10am, it died completely for us. Returned to the morning spot, fish still stacked on graph, but never caught one. Think we had 2 bass after 10am, stopped fishing at 4pm, so slow afternoon.

Saw JMax crappie fishing, so we guessed the bass bite was over Wink

Water temp 49-52 depending on area. Even though the ones we caught came from 2-9ft of water all of them were really light in color. Has the lake been real muddy lately? Color looked great with a slight stain.

Not a great day, but I've certainly had worse ha. Going to try them again next weekend
