Things finally slowed down enough at work to get out on the water so I took some buddies crappie fishing. Worked creek channels in 15-30ft of water until the wind go up to high to make steady drifts. We decided to get into the lee side of the islands around Harrison bay and found some gulls hitting the water so we inched up in the area and dropped the lines. Didn't take long til we hooked into about a 2lb white bass. Another 20min and about 10 more whites and we moved to another area where the birds were working with the same results. We decided to keep working the same school of bait but instead of suspending the lines in the depth we marked suspended fish we set them just off the bottom thinking the crappie might be under the whites. Ended up with 0 crappie but still had a fun day catching white and yellow bass that were fighting like tanks in the warm water temp.
